"As always, the kids you send over did a great job of covering all the points that you have listed below. The High School students were prepared, able to keep the groups focused (most of the time-even we teachers can't do it all the time!), and presented their required information in a fun way.
In all, they did a fine job. Please let them know how much the kids LOVE having them come over. The fact that they are "Big Kids" alone causes my kids to take pause and listen to what their message is."

What are PIONEER PARTNERS?
After many great years of STEP, TEAM and TATU, it was time for a refresh. The LYD Board in the spring of 2019 recruited a Student Advisory Board of fantastic kids from freshman to seniors. This SAB is full of fantastic ideas!
One of these ideas is to create Pioneer Partners. Pioneer Partners will begin by partnering with the K-4th grade elementary kids. We heard loud and clear from principals and high schoolers that reading together is a fun and important activity. Our high school students will receive training from Mrs. Katie McIntosh from our district to learn how to effectively and properly read to elementary kids. Next, the SAB and LYD board will create a program that suits the middle school students.
Staff Liaison - Mr. Kawel is our staff liaison for our LYD programs. If you have questions or want more information on participation, stop by his room 226.
